Machining

Quality Machining Center (QMC – Division of Midwest Aero Support, Inc.) is a contract machine shop specializing in precision multi-axis milling and boring of complex parts and assemblies. We specialize in the manfacture of parts/assemblies during development as well as low volume production.

QMC is registered to both AS9100B and ISO 9001.

Core Equipment:

  • Hermle 851 Universal Milling Machine:

Axis Travels (Linear): X=25”, Y=17.5”, Z=17”
Axis Travels (Rotary): C=360 degree (continuous), B=180 degree (positional)
Spindles: Designed with both a Cat40 Verticle and Cat40 Horizontal.

The 851 is versatile 5 axis (3+2) mill with features that make it uniquely outstanding as an R&D and prototype machine.

  • Deckel Maho DMV 50 Verticle Machining Center:

Axis Travels (Linear): X=19.5, Y=17.5, Z=17
Spindle: Cat40 Verticle

The DMV 50 is a very accurate 3 axis verticle machining center. It’s designed in such a way that all the moving axis are independent of the part (they’re above the work volume). As such the part doesn’t need to be moved or rapidly accelerated around the machine which makes it an outstanding machine for finishing parts, especially those that have contoured surfaces where surface size and finish are critical, like with the machining of mold cavities, or on prizmatic parts where quick and rapid motions of the machine are common, like with the machining of thin walled aluminum structural parts.

  • Delcam’s PowerMill & PowerShape CAD-CAM Software:

PowerMill is an outstanding CAM software for R&D, prototype parts or small batch production. It generates complex machine programs from either line drawings, solid or surface models. In combination with our CAD software we can clearly communicate with our customer’s engineering & manufacturing personal regarding manufacturability.
